Since all the audio recordings and phrases are included within our iPhone apps you download from the App Store, our Talking French Phrasebook does not need to connect to the internet. That might not seem like a big deal but here is why that is important;
If you are travelling abroad, the chances are that if you are using your iPhones 3G or Edge connection, you will be subject to data roaming charges which can as much as $10 per MB!
Many of the translation products available on the App Store query internet databases which may well end up costing you more money than the app did in the first place.
What's more, translators that use mechanical translation methods (such as Google Translate) are highly inaccurate and you'd probably get just as far making silly hand gestures, shouting loudly in English or just taking a wild guess at how something should be said in French.
You'll also find that even if you have to play a French speaking person one of the phrases on your iPhone, the novelty of hearing a native French voice speaking will get you a smile from the locals!
